If  you’re tired of answering that question you’ve come to the right place.  I know three things about people over 35 who have not married:

  • There is nothing wrong with them
  • They are not alone (there are 25 million of them)
  • There are many, complex reasons why they have not married

How do I know this? I wrote the book on it.  I’m Carl Weisman and welcome to WhyNeverMarried.com, a site for people who feel misunderstood, underappreciated and forgotten because they haven’t said, “I do.”

I’m not anti-marriage.  I hope to be some day.  I’m pro choice: the choice to marry or not, free from religious doctrine, family pressure and social expectations.  On this site we’ll explore the institution of marriage and my belief that it is good for some people, but it’s not for everyone.

I don’t believe that PhDs, therapists or social scientists have all  the answers.  Here, you and I will challenge public perception about the never married and fill in the blanks where real information is lacking.  I want to put and end to the misconception that all never married men are womanizers or commitment phobic.  I know better.  And I also know that most of you who have yet to marry are right where you’re supposed to be.  You should be applauded for preserving the sanctity of marriage by not walking down the aisle before you’re ready or before you find your true life partner.

I am counting on you to share your story, so we can commiserate, we can connect and we can learn from one another.  I look forward to hearing from you and I will continue to conduct research into this fascinating subject.
